Glad this Feedback page is now available, so I can tell everyone my story:
I met John from RG Active about a week before I was due to take part in the UK 70.3 event in June 2008. We had a brief chat and I explained that I would find the cut-off time for the swim tricky given that I could only swim breatstroke. John made the bold claim (I couldn’t swim 25 metres) that he would have me comfortably swimming front crawl in time for the London Triathlon in August 2008!
On returning from a disappointing UK 70.3 suffering 3 punctures and only repair kit for 2, I met up with John for early morning lake swimming at Ham lake, and have never looked back!
not only did he have me easily completing the London triathlon swim in front crawl, but I also went on to complete the Vitruvian half ironman in September in under six and a half hours, which I genuienly don’t think would have been possible without John’s support and encouragement during my training.
I also knocked 10 minutes off my best half marathon time in November 2008, giving me a time I never thought was possible for little old me.
So, in 2009 I will be tackling a full Marathon, again relying on some hill training with John , and maybe i’ll throw in some sprint distance triathlons for good measure.
I can’t wait!
Joanne
I have been training with John for around a year now – I have my own tailored prgramme and attend private coaching, group open water swims and transition training.
John’s programmes are always challenging but realistic and are designed for your own circumstances and goals – This means that I have always been able to stick to them virtually all of the time and I was successful in completing my first half Ironman in under 6 hours.
If I have queries or want to chat over anything, John is always happy to have a chat to help me out.
All the training sessions (group and private) have been great – they are not just hard sessions, I learn new skills and make technical improvements as well.
John and Marsha are also always very motivational and encouraging – be it at events we have all competed in, at training sessions or by email or phone.
If you want a knowledgable Coach who you feel genuinely cares about your training and about you meeting your goals, John and RG Active fit the bill perfectly.

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to RGActive.
I have just completed the London Triathlon and I owe a lot to your coaches. I have run marathons for the last 10 years and wanted to do triathlons but I have always been scared of the swimming element.
However, thanks to Ray at Canary Wharf, John and Marsha at Ham Lake, I overcame these fears. They have been so encouraging and have shown a real warmth that has helped my confidence.
My swim time of 41 minutes was not fantastic but it was a real achievement for me to swim 1500 metres at the excel centre.
Many thanks
I finally found a Tri Suit that fits me!!!
I was at the London Triathlon spectating for the 2nd year due to yet another injury, I saw the stand and met Marsha who was so kind and very helpful in helping me find the right size and giving me a hand as I’m currently on crutches due to a fractured hip.
I looked last year in preparation for this year but still never found one to fit my legs I note from several reviews that I’m not the only female unable to get a trisuit that fits everywhere but this one is perfect fingers crossed no injury’s and I will be over the finish line in 2012!!
Its good to see the feedback from John as I too am a little weary of the swim I will certainly be coming to RGActive for advice as soon as I’m back on my feet.
Thanks again
Hi John & Marsha,
Just had to send a note to you and Marsha to say thanks SO much for all your training, motivation and inspiration. I loved every minute of my tri today (okay so maybe not having to run on gravel path in bare feet – ow!) and that is entirely because of you two. I took myself so seriously and was so hard on myself about everything, and it was ruining my times rather than helping. I relaxed all the way round today (and drank – hooray) and got times that I’m really proud of (although perhaps relaxed too much in transition 5 minutes – oops!).
You guys have really inspired me and your attitude towards just loving what you do has really rubbed off on me. Think you’re both amazing and can’t thank you enough.
Will be getting my cleats ordered tomorrow, will let you know when they’re due and we can get a session in the diary.
Speak soon

Hi John, Marsha and RGA Team mates,
I just wanted to say a big thank you to you two and your wonderful gang of supporters on Saturday. I never needed you more! I absolutely loved the BallBuster – it was immense! I was probably at my limit on the day, due to bad cramping on the bike which made the final run almost impossible but, with the enthusiastic and noisy efforts of the team, they pulled me along and I am proud to have made it. Once again, RG Active were there for me in my hour (or 4 1/2 hours!) of need.
Remind me when we are in Majorca that I have a tribute song for you all!!
Please pass on my thanks to all those who were there on Saturday.

Hi John and Marsha,
Just like to say a massive thank you for ALL your training advice , hints tips and time over the last couple of years, I never thought in a million years that I would be participating in a triathlon let alone enjoy it as i did!
The team green spirit within you and your other clients makes me feel like I could attempt anything……THANK YOU.

Hello John and Marsha,
Just a quick email to say thank you so much for all your amazing bricks and open water swim sessions that I’ve taken part in over the last few months! They really came into effect yesterday at the womans only shock absorber triathlon!!
It was my first triathlon ever, did the challenge distance and completed the course in 2hrs4mins47secs, coming 5th in my age group, 37 overall! Could not have dreamed of a better result for my first go! So thank you for all the training, encouragment and pre race advice! It all worked wonders! It was brilliant seeing a few friendly faces from the rgactive race team too, really made a difference feeling part of a team! Vicky has also been an amazing support, she should give up the day job and become a coach! I’ve been her pilates teacher for a couple of years and always admired what she did, when I finally decided to sign myself up for a tri she gave me all the advice, info and gear I could dream of and suggested I come train with you guys. I officially blame her for me catching the tri bug!
I will definitly be back for more torture, I think my next step is to do an Olympic distance. Vicky is egging me on to try do another Dorney lake tri, attempting a 2hr30mins for an Olympic. So watch this space.
Thanks again, and see you both soon!

Fantastic transition training – fun and competitive! And learning to dismount at speed was something I never thought I would be able to be taught so quickly and confidently!
