What is PERSONAL TRAINING?

A personal trainer is a person who helps people exercise.

There are 5 classic components of fitness, and they are:
- Muscular strength
- Muscular endurance
- Body composition
- Cardiovascular endurance
- Flexibility

Personal trainers work through personal training studios and health clubs, assisting clients within the facility, or are available for sessions in a clients home or specifically selected venues that suit the purpose of the client.

Trainers are generally needed to demonstrate various exercises and help clients improve their exercise techniques.

Due to the more interpersonal contact between a trainer and a client versus a general gym setting, a trainer is more readily able to provide motivation and support to an individual in an exercise program, in addition to proper technical instruction.

A trainer can keep records of their clients’ exercise sessions to help monitor progress, and may also advise their clients on how to modify their lifestyle outside of the gym to improve their fitness.

It was only 10 years ago that Personal Training was seen as a complete luxury and something that only celebrities could afford. We now see Personal Trainers in every high street gym, visiting people's homes and training in outdoor facilities with a whole range of people from all walks of life.

RG Active are proud to offer Personal Training at a studio in the Moorgate area of the financial district of London, in a private facility where you can work with your trainer without the disruptions that you find in the larger mainstream gyms. We work with experienced and qualified trainers that understand how to maximise your time effectively in a busy day. Our trainers all have experience of working with multisport athletes at a variety of levels and one of our head coaches, Dermott Hayes, operates from the studio during the week.


The facility offers everything that a Personal Trainer needs to help you improve your fitness through challenging workouts. We have a mix of Cardio-Vascular equipment, free weights, cable machines, TRX Suspension Trainers and core training equipment. With this we are able to focus on the Strength, Speed, Stamina, Flexibility and Agility that multisport athletes require to be successful.


For many athletes who acquire the services of a Personal Trainer it can take their training and racing to a new level. If you have always trained the same way and seen moderate results maybe it is time to take the next step and get somebody else to do the hard work of structuring your workouts for you.
