Have you ever looked through the results at a race you competed in and wondered how the times of people's transitions are 10 seconds, 20 seconds, 40 seconds and then looked at your times and it reads 3 minutes?
Or, are you already one of those people at the top of the results pages and need to shave of a few seconds to jump you up from 3rd to 2nd and if you had just been a little quicker getting your runs shoes on or mounted your bike a slightly different way you could have even been 1st?
Whatever you reasons for wanting to know more about Transition training, we are able to offer as much or as little advice as you need to get the most out of this part of your triathlon and make the whole triathlon experience a little easier and enjoyable.
COME AND ENJOY THE RG ACTIVE EXPERIENCE.

'transitions' are the period of time between each of the three triathlon disciplines where you change the necessary equipment to get on with the next section of the event.
For some people they are a time to rest and make yourself comfortable so the next sport will be as easy as possible, for others it is the '4th discipline' and it is all about how quickly you can get in and out to save as much time overall as possible.
Whatever category you fit into, transition training is so much FUN and if you have already seen the YouTube clip above you will see that whatever bike you ride, whatever your ability level it is a session that everyone can learn something from and take as much or as little from as you want.
The sessions are currently being run in Richmond Park and we are looking at other venues for the Winter leading into next season.
the sessions are about 2 hours in length and start with a short lesson, talk through and then demonstration before you DIY!
The sessions are 20.00 GBP per session.
For the session you will require the following equipment:
- Bike
- Bike shoes (triathlon if you have them)
- Run Shoes (with elastic laces if you have them)
- Tri-Suit or Tri Shorts, something that you can run and ride in comfortably and ideally what you might wear to race in.
- Number belt (not essential)
- Talcum Powder (I will explain)
- Sunglasses
- Small Towel
- Bike Helmet
- Socks (if you intend to use them?)
