It is hard to believe that a year has passed since I crossed the finish line of this event, but it has and I was back to do it all over again!

It doesn't get any easier and with a bigger field of mad people running what is easily the hardest 10km race I have ever competed in, I couldn't think of a better way to start the New Year.

I had a good run, the conditions were as good as you can expect on January 1st and apart from twisting my ankle and loosing a little time I completed the run in 49 mins and in 8th place overall.

I was lucky enough to have my family and close friends there with me and we all had a fantastic time.

Well done to everyone who completed the race and I am already looking forward to 2010!
