Good afternoon everyone,
If you ever needed an excuse to go abroad and train, then this summer would give you that excuse. The weather has been miserable and although we are hardened to it, it is started to get test my motivation to the max!

Above: A typical summer’s day in the UK this year!
Last night a group of about 8 of us met for the RG Active group swim at Roydon Lake. The evening started off ok but about half way through the session the heavens opened and it rained so hard sighting was made very difficult. The session was great and we covered a good 2K in total as we all train for the last few races we have this season.I am only a few weeks away from my ‘A’ race, Monaco 70.3 Half Ironman is only a couple of weeks away now so I have to keep the training up for a little longer, Dermott is 12 weeks away from his first Ironman in Florida and then we can look forward to a little bit of time off before the Winter training starts and the 2009 season in approaches!

Above: Dermott and I at the lake last night, Dermott had cut his foot and was moaning about it! He still has his Lucozade with him though staying hydrated, did you notice?
Anyway, if anyone is getting as sick as I am with this depressing weather in the UK I might have some good news for you?We are just finalising the smaller details of the NEW RG Active Training Camp. The camp will be held in Majorca from 16th to 30th March 2009. The camp will be suited to all abilities and ages and will be a great way to get some good training under your belt prior to the 2009 season and in some of the best surroundings you could ever wish to train in!
Above: Some images of the apartments we will be staying in while in Majorca.
The camp will have a large emphasis on cycling but cover swimming and running as well and most importantly we aim for everyone to have FUN! The initial details of the camp are on the RG Active website and the finer details will be available soon, there will be 50 places available for the camp. For more details please feel free to drop me an email john@rgactive.com
Speak to you all soon, John

He’s not very well balanced though having to hang onto to you. Maybe it’s the wrong kind of hydration in his bottle?
